The Helium Life Raft

The Flight Raft and the Woodpecker

This was a Lego thing I created after reading 1984 (Orwell) and Mortal Engines (Reeve). The story behind it is as follows:

As the last nation, a country known as “Ankwell”, started falling apart, pieces breaking off and floating into the ocean around it. At the East Dock, two ships were created at the same time. Hope and Discovery. They were created in such a way that they could be joined together, two ships leaving Ankwell behind and searching for hopeful new horizons. All the chosen people had made it onto the ship. Except one. Ravenwood had not made it to the ship, and it was too far from the dock to set a gangplank. Madison Ravenwood would have to jump. The force of the landing broke Hope from Discovery, and two ships now floated adrift from one another. Another thing happened with the force of impact. The vessel gained a hole. Not only was Ravenwood far from any land, but now she was also far from the other boat. As the sinking vessel filled with water, a life raft and an air tank floated to the surface. Salvation. Pumping the raft took only a few minutes, and Ravenwood made short work of the air supply. Only then did she realise that it was Helium. She was flying on a floating life raft.

After a few years of descending upon larger ships to steal valuable parts, including giant feet, pneumatic pistons, and an electric guitar, the boat had been modified. There was a small engine in the back, powered by the nitrogen found in the air around it, a tiller made from the guitar, and stabilizers made from the pistons and giant feet. All of Ankwell knew of the Airship. And this began the era of the tracking devices.
